Veedersburg - Charles William Craig, 65-year-old farmer and fruit grower of near Veedersburg, died Tuesday night at the Community Hospital in Williamsport from injuries suffered Monday in an accident near Pine Village. Mr. Craig sustained a skull fracture when he was struck by a falling tree limb. He was assisting a nephew, Gene Craig, in the operation of a chain saw when the accident occurred. Born June 18, 1887, at Yeddo, Mr. Craig was the son of Owen B. and Ada Drollinger Craig. He married Lillie Lightle June 18, 1910. Surviving are the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Corey, Veedersburg; four sons, Ralph and Robert Craig, Veedersburg, Owen Craig, Frankfort, and Sgt. James Craig, in service with the Army in Germany; a sister Mrs. Viola Grigson, Oakland, Calif., and four brothers, Sam, Clifford and Edgar Craig, Veedersburg, and Roy Craig, Lansing, Mich. Mr. Craig was a member of the Crawfordsville Eagles Lodge. Funeral services will be held at the Veedersburg EUB Church at 2:30 p.m. Friday, in charge of Rev. Samuel Pritchard and Rev. Donald Messmer. Burial will be in the Rockfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fishero Funeral Home.
